Ragout!

Ragout! was a a fun academic project done in 2023 where i tried to give an homage to different TV shows like WipeOut!, Takeshi's Castle, ANW, etc.

Being my first contact with many new things at the time as a dev (Ragdoll physics, 3D animations and models, sports mechanics, level design, and more) Ragout! comes out as a huge box of surprises!!

But let's talk about the four modes that you can find once you download this prototype.

In the Original Mode you have to make your way to the finish line on a track full of different obstacules and challenges as fast as you can. This mode is the one that pays the homage to WipeOut! and other shows like Takeshi's Castle, while adding a little drop of unique game only obstacles that logically couldn't exist in real life.

Jump, Kick, Dive, Slide, and Run as fast as you can for the best time!!!  

When the time to add a little twist to the original mode came around, i thought it would be fun to modify the original track a little by now adding a football that you need to guide all the way to the new finish line!

Why a football? Dude i'm Argentinian of course i have to put football anywhere i can. 

This is no easy task and times will be higher, but it's still up to you to see how fast can you get things done!

If you don't feel comfy with the football and it's janky mechanics don't worry i got you covered in...

Here you're free to train as much as you can in a ultra realistic football pitch in the middle of heaven. Kick, run, and score in any of the two goal as much as you can so that you're better prepared for either F-Challenge or...

As the last and jankiest mode added, F-Missions offers 4 easy challenges to add to the already jammed prototype. At this point you can really tell how much the original idea of Ragout! changed during it's development process, finishing in the style of a bootleg FIFA/PES game.   

With a penalty mission, two free kicks modes, and a 1v1 with state of the art AI F-Missions was the last and heavy rushed mode that concluded the Ragout! experience done in 2023.

Despite making a new build for this Itch release with full english HUD/UI and fixing some game breaking bugs, the experience is still a prototype and as such don't expect it to be perfect. But still it should be enough to have fun for a couple of minutes!
